Yangon-Mandalay-Thanlyin-Yangon
( 5 Days / 4 Nights )
Day 1 On arrival meets and transfers to hotel. Evening sightseeing
in Yangon and seeing night life of a certain part of Yangon. Stay
overnight in Yangon.
Day 2 Early morning transferred to airport for flight to Mandalay.
Arrive Mandalay and check in at the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing in
Mandalay including Mahamuni Pagoda, a four meter high sitting Buddha image
made of bronze originally but coated with three centimeter thick pure gold
in the passage of time; Tapestry Making; Gold Beating and Gold Leaf Work;
Ivory Carving; Marble Carving and Wood Carving. Stay overnight in Mandalay.
Day 3 Morning transfer to jetty and by boat to Mingun. Sightseeing
in Mingun including: the world biggest ringing bell; Pahtodawgyi, an
unfinished pagoda known as the world largest pile of bricks; Myatheindan,
the prettiest pagoda in Konbaung Period (1752-1885 AD). Afternoon drive to
Amarapura excursion to Bagaya Monastery where there is a collection of
antiques such as palm leaf manuscript and Buddha image; Palace Tower and
Royal Treasury; Pahtodawgyi, a great stupa with marble plaques of Jataka
scenes and Taungthaman Lake on which a hundred and fifty years old teak
bridge. And then drive to Sagaing Inwa Bridge which is the only one
crossing over the Ayeyarwaddy River; Soon-Oo-Ponnyashin, the oldest stupa
on Sagaing hills; Kaunghmudaw, the largest hemispherical doomed stupa and
sagaing Market silversmith's work. Stay overnight in Mandalay.
Day 4 Morning transferred to airport for flight to Yangon. Drive to
Hotel. Afternoon drive to Thanhlyin (formerly known as Syriam and is a
Portugese settlement town) and Kyauktan where there is a mid stream
pagoda. In the evening return to Yangon by car. Stay overnight in Yangon.
Day 5 Morning drive to Bogyoke Market and one-stop shopping there.
Afternoon transferred to Yangon airport for final departure.
